The DeSoto Parish Tourist Bureau board of directors is happy to announce Charlotte Miller has been hired to be the new Executive Director. She will begin June 5, 2023.

Charlotte is a 1992 graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport where she majored in Sociology with a minor in History. Graduating Magna Cum Laude, she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi. She served on the DeSoto Parish Tourist Board as a volunteer for 12 years. She currently serves on the Keachi Heritage Foundation Board and has served as the Secretary/Treasurer for over 14 years. Also, Mrs. Miller has served on the Historic Grand Cane Association Board for three years and is currently the President. Charlotte and her late husband Billy have 4 sons together. She has 3 grandchildren and is expecting a fourth in November. She enjoys cooking, yardwork, traveling to historic sites and museums, and working on their family’s small cattle farm.

Mrs. Miller hopes to continue in the footsteps of the late Julie Adams Rogers and make the Tourist Bureau an economic force in DeSoto parish. A few of her goals for this new position include creating new tourism venues, increasing signage and historic information for visitors, and meeting with mayors and community leaders to hear their ideas of how to attract tourists to their city, town, or village. Mrs. Miller can be reached through DeSotoTourism@gmail.com or 318-872-1177
