Gloster has three privately-owned homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places: Rose-Neath Plantation, located on LA Hwy 5 approximately 2 miles east of the town; Myrtle Hill Plantation House, a Greek Revival home and built by Robbins Brothers circa 1850; The Thomas Scott House, a Greek Revival house, was built by Thomas Scott circa 1858. Gloster is also home to Sunrise Cookies, a local favorite is their jalapeño and cheese bread along with several popular cookies. Best known for shipping their homemade King Cakes all over the country during Mardi Gras season, they continue to make their mini King Cakes year around. Located on the corner of Hwy. 171 and Hwy. 5.
