Celebrate the Season in Logansport with "A Small Town Christmas"

This rural town in Louisiana loves the holidays so much that a small group of local volunteers work months to prepare for the Christmas season. Visit the charming community of Logansport from late November through December to get a taste of the holiday spirit and experience the annual outdoor lighting event. Families can enjoy walking or driving through the displays under a sea of Christmas lights. Talk about a winter wonderland!

Situated along the Sabine River in DeSoto Parish, Logansport is a historic riverport community between Shreveport/Bossier and Natchitoches and directly across the river from Joaquin, Texas. They kick off their season with an extravagant event on the weekend prior to Thanksgiving. You’ll enjoy the sounds of giggling and screaming children as they run from each exhibit or take a ride on the holiday train and visit with Santa. The large, lighted water tower will guide you to the destination. Fireworks, parade, entertainment, vendors, and Santa are all in attendance on the premiere night. Bring the entire family. No admission is charged.

After experiencing the lights and fireworks take a stroll along the river to enjoy the magic of the moment. Christmas lights reflecting into the Sabine River all add to the enjoyment of a fun holiday month. The lights remain on until after the first of the year for your enjoyment. 

Other parades and celebrations throughout the parish highlight Christmas in DeSoto Parish in Stonewall, Grand Cane, and Mansfield throughout December. Logansport is a partner with Louisiana Holiday Trail of Lights.
